Negligence in cleanliness campaign will not be tolerated, assessment work should be completed within time limit: DDC

In order to make the cleanliness campaign effective in the district and to meet the set targets on time, a training-cum-review meeting was organized on the subject of 'Clean Service Assessment' under the chairmanship of Development Commissioner Indraveer Kumar on Saturday under the Lohia Swachh Bihar Abhiyan (LSBA). All the Block Development Officers of the district, Block Coordinator, Panchayat Secretary and BPM of Jeevika participated in the meeting. Director, DRDA, District Coordinator and District Advisor were also present on this occasion.

During the meeting, the concerned officials and personnel were given information about the process of 'Swachh Seva Assessment', its various aspects and how to complete the assessment work as per the departmental guidelines. The Development Commissioner directed all concerned officers to complete the assessment work within the stipulated time-limit. He stressed on ensuring progress as per the set targets by taking seriousness and promptness in the execution of the works.

In the meeting, the progress of various schemes and works conducted under Lohia Swachh Bihar Abhiyan was reviewed. During this, the construction of toilets in Mahadalit tolas, construction of individual household toilets (IHHL) and the status of payment to the beneficiaries were discussed in detail. Officials were asked to review the pending works and take necessary steps towards their timely execution.

Special cleanliness campaign will run on festivals

In view of the upcoming festivals, preparations for running a special cleanliness campaign in the district were also discussed. The Development Commissioner directed the concerned officials to ensure proper arrangements for cleanliness in rural areas during festivals. Emphasis was also laid on maintaining better coordination between all departments and concerned personnel for effective implementation of cleanliness related activities.

He said that the pending works should be completed on priority basis by following the standards set under the cleanliness campaign, so that a clean and neat environment can be maintained in the district. In the meeting, officers were instructed to ensure expected progress by regularly monitoring the works in their respective areas.
