‘Negligence will not be tolerated…’, CM Dhami gives ultimatum to officials in Haldwani
These days, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is visiting different areas of the state and directly taking the pulse of the people. In this series, on Sunday, CM Dhami reached Haldwani during his visit to Nainital district. Here he interacted directly with the general public and local public representatives at the Circuit House in Kathgodam. During this time, he not only listened to the problems of the people calmly, but also gave strict instructions to the officials for on-the-spot disposal of many serious cases.
Actually, these days the state government seems to be very serious about quick resolution of public problems. The Chief Minister clearly told all the officials present in the Circuit House that providing relief to the public is the top priority of the government. In such a situation, officers should work with full sensitivity and accountability to ensure that no complainant has to make rounds of offices. It is being told that due to this strict stance of the CM, a lot of commotion was seen among the administrative staff present there.
CM Dhami Haldwani Visit: Maximum focus remained on the issues of water and electricity
As summers are increasing in the state, water shortage becomes a big issue from hills to Bhabar. In this Janta Darbar of Haldwani also, complaints related to drinking water supply, irrigation and power cuts were prominent. According to local people, water supply is being affected in many areas. After hearing these complaints, the Chief Minister asked the officials of the Drinking Water Corporation to take action with immediate effect.
He gave strict instructions that in view of the upcoming summer season, wherever the need is felt, arrangements for water tankers should be ensured immediately. Apart from this, the tube wells or hand pumps which are lying damaged for a long time should be repaired without any delay so that the common man does not have to yearn for every drop. At the same time, the electricity department has also been instructed to supply uninterrupted electricity as per the prescribed roster and to avoid unannounced cuts at all costs.
Ultimatum to Public Works Department on bad roads
In fact, the poor condition of roads in rural areas has always been a major challenge. Many public representatives also raised the issue of poor connectivity routes with the CM in the Circuit House. Taking immediate cognizance of this, the Chief Minister asked the Public Works Department (PWD) officials to expedite the work.
He directed that the damaged roads connecting the villages to the main roads should be made pothole-free on priority basis. CM Dhami made it clear from the stage itself that if negligence or carelessness is found at any level in these important works of public interest, then the concerned officer will be held directly responsible. The government is in no mood to tolerate any kind of laxity.
Huge crowd gathered at Circuit House, many stalwarts were present
Despite Sunday being a holiday, a large number of local citizens had reached the Circuit House in the hope of getting their problems resolved. Many senior leaders like Cabinet Minister Ram Singh Kaida, Nainital MLA Sarita Arya, office bearers Anil Kapoor Dabbu and Dinesh Arya were also present in this program of the Chief Minister. Apart from this, all the departmental officers including the District Magistrate (DM) and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) from the Kumaon Administration also became a part of this meeting. Overall, this visit of CM is being considered very important in terms of providing direct relief to the public and tightening the screws of bureaucracy.
