Nepal Flood: After a lot of devastation, a relief news has emerged from Nepal. Two workers were rescued alive on Friday from a tunnel of Nepal's Trishuli 3A Hydropower Project. Nine days after the devastating flood that hit the Trishuli river corridor, this has raised hopes that more people trapped inside may still be found. According to the Secretariat of the Minister of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, the two men have been identified as Kabir Maharjan, 45, supervisor of Hydropower Automation Project, Upper Trishuli 3A, Kathmandu, and Sanjay Sah, 30, foreman of Saptari district.

The Secretariat said, 'After being airlifted, he is being taken to the hospital in Kathmandu.' Sah was rescued first on Friday, followed by Maharjan, as security forces and rescue teams intensified operations in the flood-hit project. This success was achieved when the rescue workers heard sounds from inside the tunnel and talked to the people trapped there. After this, Nepal Army and Armed Police Force intensified their efforts to clear the way for the workers. It is reported that the rescue team appealed to the trapped workers not to panic as the operation is continuing even in difficult circumstances.

A ray of hope awakened among the people
The minister's secretariat said that a joint rescue team comprising personnel from Nepal Army and Armed Police Force as well as Chinese experts has been deployed at the spot. The team is using five excavators, compressors and breakers, while tunnel drilling and holing operations have been intensified to reach the trapped workers.
