Nepal floods: Relief and rescue operations are underway amid the devastating floods in Nepal. In Rasuwa, Nepali Army rescued 350 laborers and local people trapped in the tunnel of Upper Trishuli Hydropower.

According to reports, officials said the Nepal Army rescued about 350 workers and locals, including 63 Indian nationals; All these people were trapped inside a hydropower tunnel after a sudden massive flood.
Meanwhile, around 100 people are still trapped inside the Trishuli 3A hydroelectric project in Rasuwa, one of the worst-affected districts, and rescue teams are working quickly to rescue them. This operation is being commanded by Warrant Officer Bhaktajan Basnet of Number-1 Second Movement Tactical Headquarters located in Trishuli. Apart from this, another rescue team has been deployed under the leadership of Second Lieutenant Abhishek Shahi from SQR Barrack located in Dhunche.
The rescue operation came at a time when the Himalayan country was reeling under the impact of devastating flash floods; The flood destroyed roads, bridges and hydroelectric infrastructure in the northern border area. Till late Thursday evening, the army evacuated a total of 883 people to safe places in Rasuwa.
Movement has been stopped at many places on the Nepal-China border and river banks. Rescue teams are on alert in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha, Chitwan and Nawalparasi.
