New gas cylinder booking rules come into effect from May 1 – know complete updates

Today, from May 1, many new rules related to LPG gas cylinder booking have come into effect. If you also book a gas cylinder for home, then it is very important to know these changes, otherwise you may face problems. Let us understand in desi style what has changed.

Increased waiting time between bookings

Now you will not be able to book gas cylinders quickly. Where earlier a new cylinder could be booked after 21 days, now in cities one will have to wait for at least 25 days. In villages this time can be more i.e. up to 45 days. Meaning brother, now you will have to use the gas carefully.

Cylinder will not be available without OTP

Now just booking is not enough. At the time of delivery, an OTP will come on your registered mobile number. It will be necessary to tell this OTP to the delivery person, only then you will get the cylinder. This is being called DAC system. Simple thing – you will have to keep your mobile nearby.

e-KYC becomes mandatory

Now it has been made mandatory to get e-KYC done for gas connection. Biometric verification linked to Aadhaar will have to be done. If you have not yet done e-KYC, then get it done quickly otherwise problems may arise in future.

PNG and LPG cannot be kept together

The government has implemented another big rule – if you have a PNG (piped gas) connection in your house, you will have to surrender the LPG connection. That means it is now prohibited to have both gas connections in the same house.

New prices of gas cylinder

The good thing is that there has been no major change in the price of domestic 14.2 kg gas cylinder. But an increase in the price of commercial cylinders has been seen. Commercial cylinder in Delhi has now reached around ₹ 3,071. Whereas the domestic cylinder is around ₹ 913.
