New momentum to India-South Korea relations, many important agreements reached in the meeting of Narendra Modi and Lee Jae Myung

Tezzbuzz Desk- Strategic and economic cooperation between India and South Korea has gained new strength. Narendra Modi and Lee Jae Myung emphasized on taking forward bilateral relations by participating in the India-Korea Business Leaders Dialogue. During this, both the leaders interacted with industry representatives and several important Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were also exchanged.

A warm atmosphere was seen between the two leaders during the program. PM Modi and President Lee posed for a group photo and also took selfies, which reflects the ease and strength of this partnership.

After the meeting, Prime Minister Modi said that in this era of global tension, India and South Korea are giving the message of peace, stability and cooperation. He expressed happiness that South Korea has decided to join the International Solar Alliance and the Indo-Pacific Ocean Initiative. According to him, this step will give a new direction to regional cooperation.

PM Modi said that both the countries together are committed to building a peaceful, progressive and inclusive Indo-Pacific region. He also stressed the need for reform in international institutions and said that there has been a consensus between the two countries on this issue.

Referring to the great poet Rabindranath Tagore, the Prime Minister said that he had called Korea the ‘Lamp of the East’, and today the same Korea is becoming an important partner in achieving the goal of Developed India 2047. He expressed confidence that the India-South Korea partnership will pave the way for progress and prosperity not only in both countries but also at the global level.

Meanwhile, President Lee Jae-Myung expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Modi and the Government of India and said that he was extremely happy with the hospitality he received during his visit to India. He described India as the world’s largest democracy and a rapidly emerging economic power. He also said that it holds special significance for him to pay a state visit to India as the President of South Korea after eight years.

The two leaders emphasized that democratic values, market-based economy and rule of law are the common strengths of both the countries. It has been agreed to further deepen cooperation in areas such as chip manufacturing, shipbuilding, technology, environment and energy.

This meeting is being considered an important step towards taking the relations between India and South Korea to new heights, which will further strengthen the strategic and economic partnership in the future.
