New rail line in Bihar: 95% work completed, good news for passengers
News Desk. A big good news has come for Bihar’s capital Patna and surrounding areas. The new railway line being built between Neura and Jat Dumri has now reached its final stage. About 95 percent work of this 18.2 kilometer long railway project has been completed and it is expected that trains will start operating on this track soon.
According to railway sources, the electrification work on this railway section has also been almost completed. Next month the team of Railway Safety Commissioner will arrive for inspection. If all the arrangements are found satisfactory during the investigation, then trains will start running on this route from June 2026. This is likely to directly benefit lakhs of passengers around Patna.
Big relief for passengers
With the start of train service between Neura and Jat Dumri, people’s travel will become much easier. Especially the passengers of areas like Bihta, Danapur and Maner will no longer have to take a long detour to reach Gaya route. Along with saving time, travel will become more convenient and economical.
Connectivity to multiple routes
With the commencement of this new railway line, the convenience of passenger trains for areas like Rajgir, Daniyawan and Bihta will also increase. People of rural areas will get direct benefit from this, because now they will not have to depend on additional means to reach big stations. This project will play an important role in making transportation faster and simpler at the local level.
Technical work in final stages
At present, non-interlocking work is going on at a fast pace near Neura station. Railway officials say that it will be completed soon, so that there is no hindrance in the operation of trains. Jatt Dumri Junction is also being developed, where some trains of Howrah and Gaya line are planned to be shifted in future.
Stoppages and route changes
Under the new arrangement, stoppage of some trains coming from Gaya to Patna will also be possible at Dumri Junction. This will provide additional options to passengers and will also reduce pressure on crowded major stations.
