New Tata Sierra EV to enter India soon with ADAS and 6 airbags

Desk: Tata Motors is going to launch Sierra EV in the Indian market soon. Which will come in the second quarter of the financial year 2026-27 i.e. its launch can happen between July and September. Now this confirmation has put an end to the ongoing speculations regarding the launch timeline, because this electric SUV was seen during testing for the last several months.

In Tata’s all-electric range, the Sierra EV will sit above the Curve EV and below its existing flagship electric vehicle, the Harrier EV. It will be based on the Acti.EV+ platform and will share core components with the Harrier EV, which has been well received by customers. Two battery options are available in it. The electric Curvv packs a 55 kWh pack and a larger 65 kWh unit with the larger battery giving a real range of over 500 km on a single charge. Both single-motor rear-wheel-drive and dual-motor all-wheel-drive configurations are possible.




  • Apart from this, it can be charged with DC fast charger and will also have the facility of charging (V2L and V2V). The cabin is expected to have a three-screen layout, which will include a 12.3-inch touchscreen system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument console and a 12.3-inch front passenger display. Additionally, OTA updates and connected technologies will also be available.

    Features of Tata Sierra EV include Level 2 ADAS system, 360-degree camera, power-operated front seats and dual-zone climate control in higher variants. Its price is likely to start around Rs 17.5 lakh (ex-showroom), making it a competitor to the likes of Maruti Suzuki E Vitara, Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra XEV 9E in the midsize segment.

    Its exterior design will have some minor changes compared to its IC-engined model, including a closed front grille, while the interior design may be different. However, the layout of the cabin and the list of elements will remain largely the same.
