'Next time give a rose to someone on Valentine's Day', why did CM Himanta say to Rahul Gandhi

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has cornered Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi over his statement challenging him for rose and debate. He has said that Rahul Gandhi does not know the culture of India, that is why he is giving roses on Diwali. He has said that roses are given on Valentine's Day, not on Diwali.

Himanta Biswa Sarma said that Rahul Gandhi wants to debate with Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi but the debate does not happen on the streets, it happens in Parliament. CM Himanta has said that if he has to debate then follow the parliamentary procedure and raise this challenge in the Parliament.

CM Himanta said that if Rahul Gandhi wants a debate, then Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah can answer but in Parliament, not on the streets. He has advised Rahul Gandhi to follow the prescribed parliamentary procedures and not to make allegations of foreign help. He also took a dig at Rahul Gandhi's Italy connection.

'Rahul Gandhi you don't know about Indian culture'

CM Himanta said, 'Rahul Gandhi gives roses on Valentine's Day, roses are not given on Diwali. Well, you don't even know all this. How do you know about the culture of India?

CM Himanta Biswa Sarma:-
Do you know that you are the Leader of Opposition or not? If you are the Leader of Opposition and you believe that you are the Leader of Opposition, then where will your debate be with the Prime Minister? Will it be on the road? Or will someone be in the streets or in Parliament?

CM Himanta said, 'Why do you want to make Mohan Bhagwat a judge? Speaker Saheb is sitting in the Parliament, your mother is also in the Parliament, your sister is also in the Parliament. Debate can take place in Parliament also, there is no dearth of a judge.

'There will be talks on Bofors and America deal'

CM Himanta said that you should not talk about foreign relations. Be it the US deal, Bofors or the Bhopal gas tragedy, we will discuss everything with you. He said that the debate should take place in Parliament without any noise. He said that you initiate the debate, Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will answer.

'India is not Bangladesh, debate is not on the streets'

Himanta Biswa Sarma, Chief Minister, Assam:-
Now why do you want to call people on the street? This is not Bangladesh, this is not Nepal. Why do you go to countries around the world? Who has contact with foreign countries? Who is sitting with the Chinese Communist Party after signing a Memorandum of Understanding? Rahul ji, don't consider people as such babblers.

'You can't be an angry young man forever'

CM Himanta said, 'You cannot always remain this angry young man. If you really want to become a good politician, I have a free advice for you. This time, you must debate in Parliament and debate peacefully, do not create noise and let people listen to the debate. The Home Minister will answer your debate, perhaps the Prime Minister will also intervene, now let there be a good debate.

'Rahul Gandhi cannot digest defeat'

Himanta Biswa Sarma, Chief Minister, Assam:-
You don't want to debate. You want debate on the streets but we want debate in Parliament. You talk about SIR, if I win the elections in Assam then that is match fixing, if your government wins in Kerala that is absolutely great. Hundred percent pure gold. EVMs are bad, if Narendra Modi ji wins from Varanasi, it is bad, but if you win from Rae Bareli, it is hundred percent gold.

Himanta Biswa Sarma said, 'You come out a little. What you are doing by showing this rose, next time definitely give that rose to someone. Don't bring roses in Diwali.
