Nifty 50 Top Losers Today (April 21): SBI Life, BEL, Dr. Reddy’s Lead Declines Despite Market Gains
India’s benchmark indices ended higher on April 21, but a few heavyweights in the Nifty 50 closed in the red, reflecting selective profit booking across sectors.
The Nifty 50 settled at 24,576.60, up 0.87%, while the BSE Sensex gained 0.96% to close at 79,273.33. Despite the overall positive sentiment, several stocks emerged as the top losers of the day.
SBI Life Insurance Company led the decline, falling 3.5% to close at ₹1,914. The stock saw the sharpest drop among Nifty constituents.
Bharat Electronics slipped 1.3% to ₹451.5, while Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories declined 1.0% to ₹1,220.9.
Jio Financial Services also ended 1.0% lower at ₹234.9. Among other notable laggards, Titan Company dropped 0.6% to ₹4,484, and Reliance Industries fell 0.6% to ₹1,354.9.
In the utilities and IT space, NTPC declined 0.4% to ₹396.3, while Tech Mahindra slipped 0.4% to ₹1,499.
Auto major Eicher Motors edged lower by 0.3% to ₹7,220, and Power Grid Corporation of India closed marginally down by 0.2% at ₹319.2.
The declines were limited in magnitude for most stocks, suggesting a broadly positive market trend with pockets of mild correction rather than widespread selling pressure.
