Nishant after Nitish? Son's entry in Bihar CM race, JDU leader's statement heats up politics

Patna: A big statement has come out in the politics of Bihar regarding the post of Chief Minister. Senior JDU leader Devesh Chandra Thakur has said that he is hopeful that Bihar Health Minister Nishant Kumar will follow the path of his father Nitish Kumar and become the Chief Minister of Bihar in future.

JDU leader gave a big statement in Sitamarhi

Devesh Chandra Thakur gave this statement in Sitamarhi on Sunday. He is the Lok Sabha MP from Sitamarhi. Nishant Kumar had visited Sitamarhi and during this he was warmly welcomed by JDU workers.

Thakur said that Nitish Kumar has done a lot for Bihar. He commanded the state as Chief Minister for almost two decades and his tenure has been very important.

Nishant should move forward like his father.

Devesh Chandra Thakur expressed hope that Nishant Kumar will also follow his father's path. He will do good work in politics and will win the trust of the people. When asked if he saw Nishant as the future Chief Minister, Thakur said what was wrong in that. Anything is possible in politics. It is his wish that Nishant should reach great heights in life.

45 year old Nishant's political journey is still in its initial phase.

Nishant Kumar is 45 years old and had entered active politics in March this year. Shortly after his entry into politics, Nitish Kumar had decided to leave the post of Chief Minister and contest the Rajya Sabha elections.

Nishant is considered a person of calm nature. He speaks less in public. Initially he did not accept the offer of becoming Deputy Chief Minister in the new government of Bihar.

Later, after pressure from JDU leaders and workers, he accepted to join the cabinet. At present he is the Health Minister of Bihar and his political career has just begun.

What did Devesh Thakur say on the assessment of work?

When asked about Nishant's work as Health Minister, Devesh Chandra Thakur said that he has just started the work. It is not right to assess his performance at such a time.

The young leader should be given full opportunity to work, only then any opinion can be formed about his performance. Nishant Kumar also spoke to the media in Sitamarhi. He said that he is very happy to come to Sitamarhi.

He prayed to Mother Sita that he could live up to the expectations of the people. Nishant said that he wants to work for every section of the society. He also talked about working for the OBC and EBC category people along with women.

He said that like his father, he will try to take all sections along. JDU workers present in Sitamarhi expressed confidence in Nishant's leadership. Activists say that Nishant can fill the void that could be seen in the party after Nitish Kumar moved away from active politics.
