After the arrest of Swatantra Bhardwaj, now a complaint has been lodged in the police station against Nishu Azad and his father Sanjay Azad. After the arrest of Hindutva influencer Swatantra Bhardwaj, a complaint has been filed against student protester Nishu Azad and his father Sanjay Azad. A demand has been made to register FIR against both of them.
Supreme Court lawyer Amita Sachdeva has filed a complaint against the father-daughter duo. They allege that derogatory things were written on Nishu's X account about Lord Shiva, Lord Krishna, Mother Saraswati and Mother Durga. Sachdeva has sought registration of an FIR under sections 299 (deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings) and section 196 (promoting enmity between groups on grounds other than religion) of the Indian Code of Justice (BNS). Along with this, he has also demanded action under the applicable sections of the Information Technology Act, 2000.
Religious sentiments of Hindus were hurt
In his complaint the lawyer has said that I am a Hindu and follow the religion. I saw the post below on X (formerly Twitter) while in the Supreme Court in New Delhi. These posts are still available for everyone. This has hurt the religious sentiments of me and other Hindus. According to the complaint, four posts posted by the X account @Nishuazad11 between September 2023 and August 2026 allegedly insulted four Hindu deities. According to the complaint, these four posts published through electronic means insulted Hindu deities and religious beliefs with a deliberate and malicious intention of inciting the religious sentiments of Hindus.
Maliciously published post
Supreme Court lawyer Amita Sachdeva alleged that these posts were published deliberately and maliciously. He claimed that their aim was to instigate the religious sentiments of the people of the Hindu community. He also said that he had earlier asked for these posts to be removed, but they remained online. It has been said in the complaint that Nishu has declared himself a minor. Sachdeva has described his father as his guardian.
Controversy started with Swatantra Bhardwaj's statement
Let us tell you that the controversy in Nishu-Swatantra Bhardwaj case started with the statement of Swatantra Bhardwaj. Swatantra Bhardwaj reportedly claimed in an interview that he had beheaded Nishu's father Sanjay Azad during the CJP protest at Jantar Mantar. He had also talked about easy escape because of his 'connections' with leaders like Chirag Paswan and Kapil Mishra. These statements of his had created controversy. Opposition leaders and the cockroach Janata Party capitalized well on this issue. Both Swatantras reached Sansad Marg police station in Delhi and protested demanding action against Bhardwaj. After this, the police registered a case against Swatantra Bhardwaj under SC and ST Act and arrested him from UP. At present Swatantra is on police remand.
