Both Nissan and Renault have reported strong sales in the Indian market in August 2026 on the back of new cars. Both the car companies have posted good sales in the month of August.
Nissan's strong performance
Nissan has sold 3,426 cars in August 2026 in the domestic market. This is a huge increase of 147% compared to last year. Apart from this, the company has exported 5,924 vehicles, taking its total sales to 9,350 vehicles. Along with steady demand for the Magnite and Gravit, the strong customer response to the newly launched 'Tecton' SUV has led to the jump in Nissan's sales. The company has also started exporting the first batch of over 1,300 units of this new Tecton SUV to South Africa, Bhutan and Nepal.

Renault's consistent pace
On the other hand, Renault has sold 2,842 vehicles domestically in the month of August. While these figures for August are lower than Nissan's, their overall performance for the year has been commendable. Between January and August 2026, Renault has sold 31,979 vehicles, representing an increase of over 47% compared to 21,621 vehicles in the same period last year.

Renault plans to introduce a total of 7 new models with petrol, CNG, hybrid and electric options to strengthen its grip in the coming years. The first new car in this series 'Triber Turbo' will be launched in the last week of September 2026.
