Nissan Tekton— To strengthen its hold in the Indian automobile market, Japanese car manufacturer Nissan is going to play a big bet. The company has made full preparations to launch its most-awaited mid-size SUV Nissan Tekton in India. Just before the official debut of this powerful vehicle, the company has released its second official teaser video on social media. This new teaser has revealed many big details about the front look and key design elements of the vehicle, which has increased the excitement of car lovers.

What was revealed from the teaser, why is it being called ‘Baby Patrol’
The second teaser released by Nissan clearly shows the front end design of the SUV. The stance of this SUV, presented in black color, looks quite muscular and bold. According to the teaser, this car has a wide front grille which has many horizontal slats. The most special thing is that there is an illuminated Nissan logo in the middle of the grill, through which a red accent strip passes.
TEKTON badging is given in big letters just ahead of the bonnet of the car. According to the Senior Design Director of Nissan, this SUV has been designed inspired by the company’s global iconic SUV ‘Nissan Patrol’, which is why it is also being promoted on social media as ‘Baby Patrol’. It has vertical LED DRLs and rectangular LED headlights which will give it a strong visual presence on the road.

Engine options, features and expected price
According to media reports and leaked information, the Nissan Tekton is built on Renault and Nissan’s shared CMF-B platform, on which the new Renault Duster is also based. Talking about powertrain, it is expected to get two turbo petrol engines:
- 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine: Which will generate around 100 horsepower and can come with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
- 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine: Which will generate a strong power of 163 horsepower. In this, customers can get the option of 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox along with 6-speed manual.
In terms of features, this SUV is not going to lag behind anyone. Modern features like 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 10.25-inch digital driver display, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, wireless charger and Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) can be seen in the cabin of the vehicle. After entering the market, its expected price is expected to be between Rs 11 lakh to Rs 18 lakh (ex-showroom), where it will compete directly with giants like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Maruti Grand Vitara.
