Tata Tigor Facelift: Patent Images Leaked

Tata Motors recently gave its entry-level hatchback Tiago a major facelift. Now, it will be doing the same with its entry-level sub-compact sedan, the Tigor, as well. We can say this because recently Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited filed a patent for the upcoming Tigor facelift. The patent images of the upcoming Tigor facelift have now been leaked online, and they give us a glimpse of how the upcoming version of this sedan will look.

Tata Motors has currently only filed the patent of the exterior design of the upcoming Tigor facelift. It was filed back on April 15. From the patent images of the exterior of this updated sedan, we can note a number of details. We can note that the new Tigor facelift will get a similar front fascia as the newly launched Tiago facelift. This will include a set of sleek headlights and a closed-off grille with the Tata logo.

Most likely, it will boast a gloss-black strip like the Tiago as well. As for the major update, it will be on the front bumper, as it will be completely new and more aggressive. There will be a large air dam in the middle, and there is a provision for the front camera as well. The bonnet of this sedan has been redesigned, and it has become flatter and more chiselled.

Moving to the side profile, we can observe that Tata Motors has kept the overall silhouette the same as the current model. However, like all facelifts, the new Tigor will also be getting a set of new 8-spoke alloy wheels. The rest of the styling elements will remain the same as the current model.

As for the rear-end design, Tata Motors will be offering the Tigor facelift with the same sloping roofline, which makes it look sporty. Its new highlights will include a set of new LED taillights. Like the Tiago facelift, it too will get the connected black element at the rear on the bootlid. However, it will not feature a connecting light bar. The bumper will also be new, and it will come equipped with a rear camera and parking sensors.

At the moment, there are no patent images that show the interior of the upcoming Tigor facelift. However, most likely, we will be seeing this sedan with a similar cabin as the Tiago facelift. The major change could be the dual-tone layered dashboard with a large 10.25-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.

It will most likely also get the same features, including dual wireless smartphone chargers, dual USB Type-C charging ports, rear USB chargers, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, push-button start-stop, cruise control, keyless entry, 37 connected car features (more than any other car in the segment), and seat-back pockets. This time around, the Tigor facelift could also get a new 360-degree camera as well.

Tata Motors will most likely continue to offer the Tigor facelift with the same 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine as the current model. It presently makes 84 bhp and 113 Nm of torque in the standard petrol guise. Meanwhile, with the CNG kit, this same engine makes 73 bhp and 95 Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. Most likely, it will be launched in the coming months.
