Nissan Tekton Launch Tomorrow: Everything We Know

Nissan is all set to launch its mid-size SUV, the Tekton, in the market tomorrow. We already know that the SUV will make its debut on 9 July 2026. Nissan has already released multiple teaser videos of the Tekton, and we now have a fair idea about its design and the features it will be offered with. Before Nissan officially launches the Tekton, here is everything you need to know about this upcoming SUV.

The Nissan Tekton is a mid-size SUV based on the same platform as the Renault Duster. However, its exterior design is completely different from the Duster. Nissan is calling the Tekton the “Baby Patrol” because its styling is heavily inspired by the brand’s flagship SUV, the Patrol.

The SUV will feature sleek rectangular all-LED headlamps with 7-shaped LED DRLs. The front grille will have a red accent that divides it into two sections. The grille itself draws inspiration from the Patrol, with the Nissan logo positioned prominently at the centre.

The front bumper will have a muscular design along with a faux skid plate to give it a rugged SUV look. The bonnet is also expected to feature a scoop, further enhancing the SUV’s aggressive styling. Coming to the side profile, the overall design is expected to remain largely similar to the Duster. However, it will get a different set of alloy wheels. At the rear, the SUV is expected to feature C-shaped LED tail lamps connected by an LED light bar, a muscular tailgate, and a bumper with a faux skid plate. The Tekton will also come with an integrated roof spoiler, roof rails, and a shark-fin antenna.

Inside the cabin, the Nissan Tekton is expected to share much of its design with the Duster. It is likely to feature a dark-themed interior with a driver-centric touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, electrically adjustable front seats, ventilated front seats, leatherette upholstery with contrast stitching, automatic climate control, Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, rear AC vents, rear-seat privacy curtains, and more. However, the user interface for the infotainment system and the digital instrument cluster is expected to be different from the Renault.

Coming to the engine and transmission options, the Nissan Tekton will be offered with two turbo-petrol engine choices. It was initially expected that Nissan would introduce the strong-hybrid version around six months after the launch of the regular model. However, recent reports suggest that Nissan may not offer the strong-hybrid version with the Tekton. Instead, Renault is expected to keep the 1.8-litre strong-hybrid powertrain exclusive to the Duster to give it an edge in the fast-growing mid-size SUV segment.

The Nissan Tekton will be offered with a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that generates 100 PS and 160 Nm of peak torque. This engine will be available with a manual transmission only.

The second engine option is a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol unit. It is one of the most powerful engines in the segment, producing 163 PS and 280 Nm of peak torque. This engine will be available with both a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic (DCT) transmission.

The Tekton is an extremely important product for Nissan in India, and the company is expected to price it very aggressively. Nissan could launch the SUV at an introductory price that is lower than that of the Renault Duster.
