Nissan Tekton set to rival Creta and Seltos; Premium features will entice customers

The much awaited Nissan Tecton will finally hit the Indian market on the 9th of next month. The car will compete with the Renault Duster and is expected to offer several premium features. come on to the SUV There will be a strong ‘tall-boy’ look. A teaser reveals that the car could feature a larger grille and connected lightbar setup, which is seen in Nissan’s flagship models internationally. The SUV is likely to feature simple silver cladding and a sleek bonnet, which will further enhance its rugged look.

New alloy wheels

From the side, the Tecton will look similar to the Duster, but will have some unique design elements and new alloy wheels. The rear door handles are placed behind the windows to give a two-door look. The rear is quite simple, with a connected taillamp setup. The bumper is made more attractive by thick cladding, while the overall shape of the car is rounded and a new tailgate with Nissan logo completes the look.

As seen in the teaser, the cabin will feature premium gloss black paneling and brass-tone highlights. To further enhance its distinctive look, the cabin can have body-colored trim.

Features and Security

The Nissan Tecton is expected to be a distinctive SUV. This could include the Duster’s 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment unit and 10.25-inch digital driver display. Nissan can offer features like ventilated and powered front seats, panoramic sunroof and dual-zone climate control. Other features may include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless phone charger, air purifier and powered tailgate.

The Nissan Tecton could be powered by the Renault car’s 1-litre and 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engines. The Tecton could also be offered later with a 1.8-litre turbo-petrol strong-hybrid powertrain. Apart from the turbo-petrol engine, it will also have a 1.4kWh battery pack and will produce 160PS of power.

Launch date, expected price

Nissan will unveil the Tecton on July 9. It is likely to be priced from ₹10 lakh (ex-showroom) and the car will compete with the likes of Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster, Tata Sierra and Curve, Toyota Highrider, MG Aster, Volkswagen Tigun, Skoda Kushak, Maruti Grand Vitara and Victoris, Honda Elevate, Kia Seltos and Citroen Aircross.
