Now petrol will not be available without PUC, big rule for middle class, otherwise the car will remain standing.
PUC Certificate Rules: The government has taken strict steps to control the increasing air pollution in the capital Delhi. Now if a vehicle does not have a valid Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate, it will not be given petrol, diesel, CNG or LPG. This means that now it will be mandatory to show PUC before filling fuel. This rule is being implemented permanently so that pollution can be effectively controlled.
Government’s clear message
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that the government’s aim is to make Delhi clean and healthy. He acknowledged that air pollution has now become a serious problem, which cannot be ignored. Keeping this in mind, this decision has been taken. It was also made clear that under the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, it is necessary for every vehicle owner to have a PUC Certificate.
For how long is PUC valid?
It becomes mandatory to get PUC certificate made after one year of vehicle registration. This certificate usually remains valid for one year. Despite this, many people ignore it and drive without PUC, which increases pollution.
Now there will be strict inspection on petrol pumps
Under the new rule, there will be strict checking at all petrol pumps and gas stations in Delhi. Only those vehicles will get fuel, which have a valid PUC certificate. The government has instructed all fuel companies to follow this rule. “Now no vehicle will be given fuel without PUC Certificate.”
If negligence becomes costly then action is decided
The Transport Department, Municipal Corporation and Traffic Police have been given the responsibility to implement this rule. If any vehicle is found breaking the rules, challan, vehicle seizure and heavy fine can be imposed against it.
Multi-level plan to stop pollution
The government is not limited to just enforcing rules, but is working at many levels. Controlling the smoke emitted from vehicles is an important part of this plan. Apart from this, strictness on polluting vehicles is also being increased under GRAP.

appeal to the people
The government has appealed to the citizens to get PUC certificate of their vehicle made from time to time and follow the rules. “If everyone fulfills their responsibilities, Delhi’s air can be made clean.”
pay attention
This decision is an important warning for middle class drivers. Now even small carelessness can prove costly. It is wise to get PUC done in time, otherwise there will be no petrol in the car, only trouble.
