Noida Protest: Big decision of UP government, minimum wage increased to Rs 3000, big relief to workers

Tezzbuzz Desk- After the recent labor movements in the industrial areas of Uttar Pradesh, especially Noida and Greater Noida, the state government has taken a big decision to increase the minimum wages. According to the new mandate issued by the Uttar Pradesh government, these increased rates will be implemented in the entire state from April 1, 2026. The government has taken this decision on the basis of the recommendations of the high level committee, in which the salaries of different categories of workers have been increased from ₹ 1000 to about ₹ 3000.

Workers have got the most relief in industrial districts like Gautam Buddha Nagar and Ghaziabad. Here the monthly wages of unskilled workers have been increased from ₹ 11,313 to ₹ 13,690, which means a direct benefit of ₹ 2,377. The wages of semi-skilled workers have increased from ₹12,445 to ₹15,059, an increase of ₹2,614. Whereas the wages of skilled workers have been increased from ₹ 13,940 to ₹ 16,868, due to which they will get a benefit of ₹ 2,928.

There has been a good increase in the salaries of workers in other municipal corporation areas also. Here unskilled workers will now get ₹ 13,006 instead of ₹ 11,313, i.e. ₹ 1,693 more. The wages of semi-skilled workers have increased from ₹12,445 to ₹14,306, an increase of ₹1,861. Whereas the wages of skilled workers have been increased from ₹ 13,940 to ₹ 16,025, due to which they will get an additional benefit of ₹ 2,085.

Wage rates have also been increased in other districts of the state, although the increase here is slightly less. The wages of unskilled workers have increased from ₹11,313 to ₹12,356, an increase of ₹1,043. Semi-skilled workers will now get ₹13,591, which was earlier ₹12,445, a gain of ₹1,146. Whereas the wages of skilled workers have been increased from ₹ 13,940 to ₹ 15,224, which is an increase of ₹ 1,284.

The government has also made it clear in its order that the industry is currently struggling with the pressure of rising raw material prices, decline in exports and production cost. Despite this, this balanced decision has been taken keeping in mind the problems of the workers, so that on the one hand the workers can get relief and on the other hand there is no excessive burden on the industries.

In the statement issued by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, it has been said that this increase has been made as a temporary relief. Going forward, a comprehensive review will be conducted through the Wage Board and work will be done towards a permanent solution. Along with this, the government has once again rejected the news of ₹ 20,000 minimum wage going viral on social media, saying that it is completely misleading and only official orders will be valid.

The government has also reiterated that it is committed to maintaining a balance between workers’ welfare and industrial development. This decision has been taken with this in mind, so that the economic activities in the state remain strong and the workers also get their due rights.
