Noida Rain Tragedy: 28-year-old Aryan dies after falling into open drain

While the rainy season gives relief to people, a small mistake of carelessness sometimes takes away life. One such tragic accident came to light in Noida, where a 28-year-old youth, who had gone out for work amidst the rain, died after falling into an open drain.

This incident is not just the story of a family losing its support, but also highlights the dangerous reality of the city’s poor security system and open drains. Such accidents occur every monsoon, but the question is when will lessons be learned from them?

Aryan had left for work, but could not return home

On Thursday, 28-year-old Aryan, resident of village Chauda, Sector-22, was going to work as usual in Sector-57 of Police Station Sector-58 area. Due to continuous rain, the road was filled with water and it was difficult to identify the open drain. During this time his foot slipped and he fell straight into the drain. He could not get out due to the strong current and depth.

Colleague tried his best to save

His colleague Shubham, who was present with Aryan, raised an alarm as soon as the incident happened and pulled him out with the help of people present nearby. He was immediately taken to the district hospital located in Sector-39, but after examination the doctors declared him dead. This incident of just a few minutes took away the happiness of a family forever.

Police started legal action

As soon as information about the incident was received, Police Station Sector-58 reached the spot. The police took the body into custody and after filling the Panchnama, sent it for post-mortem. Officials say that necessary legal action is being taken in the matter.

Local people got angry

After the accident, local people raised serious questions on the functioning of Noida Authority. He says that many drains in the area are lying open for a long time. Due to water logging during rains, it is not known where the road ends and where the drain begins. People allege that despite repeated complaints, neither railings were installed for safety nor any permanent arrangement was made to cover the drains.

The same question returns with every rain

This is not the first incident when an open drain has taken someone’s life. Such accidents occur every monsoon, but after the accidents there is discussion for a few days and then everything becomes as before. Now the local citizens have demanded that all the open drains of the city should be immediately covered, warning boards should be put up and strong security arrangements should be made at sensitive places, so that no other family has to suffer such pain.
