Nora Fatehi’s Siir Siir Creates FIFA History, Crosses 20 Million Views in 24 Hours and Surpasses Shakira’s Record
Nora Fatehi has added another milestone to her growing international career, with her FIFA World Cup 2026 anthem Siir Siir registering a record-breaking debut on YouTube. The track crossed 20 million views within just 24 hours of its release, becoming the most-watched FIFA anthem on the platform during its first day and surpassing the previous benchmark set by Shakira’s FIFA song Dai Dai.
The song, a collaboration between Nora Fatehi, French singer Vegedream and music producer Sanjoy, forms part of the official FIFA World Cup 2026 music project. Released as one of the flagship tracks associated with football’s biggest tournament, Siir Siir quickly gained momentum across continents, drawing attention not only from Nora’s fans but also from football and music audiences worldwide.
According to reports, the anthem amassed more than 20 million views in its first 24 hours, comfortably overtaking Shakira’s Dai Dai, which had reportedly recorded 8.2 million views during the same period. The achievement has positioned Siir Siir as the biggest FIFA anthem debut in YouTube history.
The accomplishment marks another major global breakthrough for Nora, who has steadily expanded her presence beyond Bollywood over the past few years. Born in Canada to Moroccan parents and having built her career primarily in India, the performer has often spoken about embracing multiple cultural identities through her work. FIFA’s global platform offered her an opportunity to bring those influences together in a project designed for an international audience.
Speaking about the anthem earlier, Nora described the project as deeply personal. She explained that Siir Siir allowed her to combine elements of her Moroccan heritage, Canadian upbringing and Indian professional journey into a single creative expression. She also highlighted the contribution of Indian talent behind the scenes, including choreographers, dancers and stylists who helped shape the final production.

The song’s success has also brought attention to the significant Indian presence involved in the project. Choreographer Rajit Dev became the first Indian choreographer to work on an official FIFA World Cup anthem, leading a team that incorporated Indian dance influences into the global production. Shot in Morocco, the music video blends international aesthetics with elements of South Asian performance culture.
Music industry observers have noted that FIFA anthems traditionally face enormous expectations because of the tournament’s global reach. Over the years, songs such as Shakira’s Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) and other World Cup tracks have become cultural phenomena extending far beyond football. With Siir Siir, Nora joins a select group of artists associated with FIFA’s musical legacy.
This is not Nora’s first association with the World Cup. In 2022, she featured on Light The Sky, one of the official songs for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, and later performed during the tournament’s closing ceremony. That appearance significantly elevated her international profile and introduced her to audiences beyond South Asia.
The response to Siir Siir has been particularly strong across social media platforms, where fans have praised the song’s energetic beat, multicultural influences and elaborate choreography. Several users described it as one of the most memorable tracks released as part of the FIFA World Cup 2026 music programme.

Adding to the excitement, Nora is also expected to perform during FIFA World Cup 2026 celebrations, further strengthening her connection with the tournament. Reports suggest she will be part of the opening ceremony festivities, placing her alongside several international artists involved in the World Cup music programme.
