'Not communism, Hindu right wing is a threat to the country', Hamid Ansari's big attack from Noorani Manch

Former Vice President Hamid Ansari, quoting Nehru, said that the threat to India is not from communism, but from Hindu right-wing communalism, and also mentioned the book written on RSS.

New Delhi: Former Vice President Hamid Ansari has once again intensified the political stir with his statement. Speaking at the AG Noorani Memorial Lecture held in Delhi, Ansari said that the real threat to India is not communism but Hindu right-wing communalism. Let us tell you, Ansari said this while quoting an old statement of former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. He said this was said by Nehru in a meeting with officials of the Ministry of External Affairs, which was noted by the then Foreign Secretary Gundevia.

Also mentioned the book ‘The RSS: A Menace to India’

In his speech, Ansari also mentioned the book ‘The RSS: A Menace to India’ by famous lawyer and historian AG Noorani. This book was published in 2019. Ansari said that the couplet written by Noorani in the preface of this book accurately describes the situation and feelings of Muslims in India today.

Remembered AG Noorani

Along with this, Hamid Ansari paid tribute to AG Noorani in this program organized on Friday. He described Noorani as the sharpest mind of the Constitution, knowledgeable on many subjects and an institution in itself. Ansari said that Noorani’s entire life was dedicated to justice, civil liberties, minority rights and secularism. He was born and brought up in Bombay and belonged to the Kutchi Memon community. His name was held in great respect in the field of law.

Ansari also mentioned his personal friendship with Noorani. He told that whenever Noorani used to come to Delhi, he used to go to Kareem Restaurant near Jama Masjid. Good food was a part of every visit. He was a person who took great care of his personal life.

Emphasis on constitution and minority rights

In a large part of his speech, Ansari also recalled Noorani’s contribution in protecting human rights and constitutional freedoms. He said that at a time when government power and law are raising questions on the freedom of common people, Noorani has always raised the voice of civil rights and minorities. After this statement of Ansari, political reactions have also started. His statement is being considered as a direct attack on RSS and right-wing ideology.
