Now 360° security grid on the border, Amit Shah’s big action plan

New Delhi:Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah has issued major instructions to further strengthen the security arrangements in the areas along the India-Pakistan border. He has ordered the removal of all illegal constructions within a radius of 15 kilometers from the border. In a high-level meeting held in Bikaner, Rajasthan on Tuesday, Shah took a detailed review of the security situation in the border areas and directed the officials to take strict measures.

Shah took stock of the ground situation

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, senior officials of the state government, District Collector and Superintendent of Police of Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Sriganganagar and Phalodi districts participated in this meeting. Apart from this, senior officials of various agencies of the Central Government were also present in the meeting. Before the review meeting, Amit Shah visited a post located in the border area, took stock of the ground situation there and directly inspected the security arrangements.

In the meeting, it was decided to prepare a comprehensive “360 degree security framework” for the border districts. Under this, emphasis was laid on making border management more effective by establishing better coordination between local citizens, state administration and security agencies. Shah said that zero tolerance policy should be adopted against illegal construction, infiltration, drugs smuggling, terrorist funding and other illegal activities in the border areas.

He clarified that to strengthen border security, Border Security Force, Narcotics Control Bureau, CBDT and state government agencies will have to work together. Amit Shah said that DM and SP of border districts will play an important role in this entire system. He directed officials to monitor adherence to financial rules in banks, investigate suspicious funding, identify fake Aadhaar cards and keep an eye on shell companies and mule accounts.

Emphasis on effective use of “1930” helpline

Shah also stressed on effective use of “1930” helpline to control cyber crimes. He also expressed the need to further strengthen the law and order and judicial process by fully implementing the three new criminal laws.

After Rajasthan tour, Amit Shah will also visit Gujarat border. Apart from this, he is also proposed to inspect the borders of Tripura and West Bengal in the coming days, where he will review the security arrangements.
