Now KL Rahul has changed, scored a century in 47 balls, this happened for the first time in IPL history

Delhi Capitals (DC) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) are clashing in the 35th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. KL Rahul’s stormy style was seen in this match being played at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Rahul has scored a century in 47 balls. This is the sixth and fastest century of his IPL career. He has scored a century in less than 50 balls for the first time in IPL. He has also become the fastest batsman to score an IPL century for Delhi Capitals.

KL Rahul created history

This is Rahul’s second century for Delhi Capitals. Rahul has earlier scored 2 centuries each for PBKS and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Rahul has now become the first batsman to score more than one IPL century for three different teams. Apart from Rahul, Quinton de Kock (DC, LSG, MI) and Sanju Samson (DC, CSK, RR) have also scored IPL centuries for three different teams but they have not scored multiple centuries for each team.

 

In terms of scoring the most centuries for DC, Rahul has equaled Shikhar Dhawan and David Warner, who had scored 2 centuries each for this franchise. Also, Rahul has reached par with Chris Gayle in the list of batsmen who have scored most IPL centuries.

KLR became the first Indian to do so

Rahul took advantage of the life he got on 16 runs and scored a blazing century. Even after this, he continued batting vigorously and crossed the 150-run mark. He became the first Indian batsman to reach this milestone. Rahul returned unbeaten after scoring 152 runs in 67 balls. He hit 16 fours and 9 sixes in his innings. Thanks to his innings, DC scored 264 runs at the loss of 2 wickets. Nitish Rana supported Rahul well and scored 91 runs in 44 balls with the help of 11 fours and 4 sixes.
