‘Now the wait is over, the world is opening doors for India!’ Modi’s historic visit changed the perspective of the world

Year 2026, month July and place Melbourne! The Prime Minister of Australia stands shoulder to shoulder with the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and makes a big announcement to the whole world—Australia will now provide uranium for Indian nuclear reactors.

Remember, the same Australia which once used to preach to India on the nuclear treaty, the same Australia which refused to give uranium despite India’s best efforts during the entire UPA regime, today the same country stands with India without any conditions and without any preaching. This is not just an agreement, but India gets the global respect as a responsible nuclear power, which was kept away from India for decades.

From Jakarta to Melbourne: India transforms from ‘buyer’ to ‘determiner’

For decades, India’s defense story has been one of ‘one buyer’. We used to stand in queues outside capitals around the world asking for technology. But this journey has completely changed that situation. An agreement for the supply of BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles was signed between India and Indonesia in Jakarta. After Philippines and Vietnam, Indonesia has become the third country that has expressed confidence in Indian defense technology. This is proof that the world is now recognizing India’s defense capability.

The new diplomatic game of ports

The port agreement signed in Jakarta is more important than missiles. India and Indonesia will now work together in the development of ‘Sabang Port’ located at the entrance of the Strait of Malacca. It is just 160 kilometers away from India’s upcoming ‘Great Nicobar Transshipment Hub’. Today these two flags, these two countries, have cemented their partnership on a sea route that affects almost one-third of the world’s trade. Additionally, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto conferring the ‘Bintang Adipurna’ honor on PM Modi and pledging to conserve the Prambanan temples shows that India’s diplomacy now extends from the missiles of the present to the ports of the future and our glorious history (temples).

New chapter of business and changing global picture

India has created new records not only in defense or nuclear energy, but also in trade. After 2022, there has been a 55 percent jump in India-Australia bilateral trade. The new strategic partnership with New Zealand after a wait of four decades has proved that India is now expanding its maritime access to the South Pacific. Now Indian Navy ships will also be able to receive aid and supplies in Auckland.

All this is not a mere coincidence, but the result of the ‘credibility’ that India has achieved in the last decade under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. Centuries ago, the ships of the Chola Empire had taken Indian civilization to the East through these sea routes, today Prime Minister Modi has revived the same ancient route with new partnerships and modern technology.

The doors do not open automatically. To open them one has to knock with ability, patience and respect. The world made India wait for decades, but today that period has passed. Now India does not knock on the doors of the world, rather the world itself is opening its doors to welcome India.
