According to WABetaInfo, a platform that tracks WhatsApp features, this WhatsApp feature was spotted in the beta for Android version 2.26.35.3. According to the report, a new Agents option will be added to the app's settings, which will allow users to add and configure compatible services. API key
After configuring the agent, WhatsApp will generate an API key. After this, users have to paste this key on the service platform where the bot is hosted. So that it can be linked to WhatsApp chats. The setup process may vary slightly for different services and there will also be an option to generate a new key to reset the connection. After linking with WhatsApp, the respective AI agent will work in its separate personal chat window.
According to WABetaInfo, the relevant third party service will not have access to the user's other personal chats, contacts or media files. This means, there will be no option to add these agents in group chats or communities.
Users will be able to manage added agents at any time by going to the app's settings, including changing their name and profile photo. If the user decides to delete an agent, he will be disconnected from the chat. But WhatsApp will keep the old chat history safe. Users will be able to reconnect to the service using a new API key if they wish.

Important update for users
According to reports, conversations with third-party AI agents will not fall under WhatsApp's traditional end-to-end encryption (E2EE). Messages sent to the agent will reach the agent developer through Meta's service, allowing the developer to process them as part of their service. However, personal chats and calls between two users are fully end-to-end encrypted.
