Business Desk – NSE IPO Listing Today: Shares of the country's largest stock exchange NSE were entered on BSE today. Shares issued in the IPO at a price of Rs 1,785 were listed at Rs 1,800. That means NSE IPO investors got a profit of Rs 15 per share on listing, which is a listing gain of 0.84%. However, after listing, the stock rose and it reached Rs 1,827.95. At this level IPO investors are in profit of 2.41%. NSE employees got a discount of Rs 108 on each share, so the benefit for them is more than this.

NSE IPO got 5.71 times subscription

NSE's Rs 22,562 crore IPO was open for subscription from September 17 to 21. It received a total of 5.71 times subscription. QIB's share was subscribed 12.68 times on ex-anchor basis, NII's share 6.55 times, retail investors' share 1.39 times and employees' share 2.40 times.

New shares not issued in IPO

NSE IPO was completely Offer for Sale i.e. OFS. Under this, a total of 12,64,36,650 shares with face value of Re 1 were sold. The company has not issued any new shares in this IPO. Therefore, the amount raised from the IPO has not gone to NSE but to the existing shareholders who sold shares.

What does NSE do?

NSE was started in 1992. It is the largest stock exchange in the country and is included in the world's largest multi-asset exchange platform. It offers trading in asset classes like equities, derivatives, currency derivatives, commodities, debt securities and mutual funds along with facilities like clearing, settlement, listing, market data and index services.

How many investors and companies on NSE?

By June 2026, more than 26.13 crore investors were registered on NSE. These included 12.9 crore unique investors and 1,328 trading members. There were 3,005 companies listed on the exchange. By June 2026, the total market cap of these companies was around Rs 474 lakh crore.

NSE's share in cash market turnover stood at 99.79% by the end of March 2026. Its stake in equity futures was 74.71%, in equity options 99.48% and in exchange-traded currency options 100%.

NSE Clearing also has a big stake

NSE Clearing Limited, a subsidiary of NSE, also has a major stake in different segments. Its share in cash market in FY26 stood at 88.42%, in equity derivatives 91.04% and in exchange-traded derivatives 74.09%.

NSE's profit Rs 10,302 crore

Between FY 2024 and 2026, NSE's net profit is expected to grow at a CAGR of more than 11% to Rs 10,302.06 crore. However, total income fluctuated during this period. The total income in FY 2024 was Rs 16,352.06 crore, in FY 2025 it was Rs 19,176.83 crore and in FY 2026 it was Rs 18,713.37 crore.

Profit of Rs 3,120 crore in June quarter

NSE recorded a net profit of Rs 3,120.08 crore in the June 2026 quarter of the current financial year 2027. The total income during this period was Rs 5,252.17 crore. The exchange had Rs 34,996.73 crore in reserves and surplus at the end of the June 2026 quarter.
