NEET UG 2026: NTA issues new bank update link to refund fees for canceled exams
New Delhi. National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a very important notice for the candidates of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test UG 2026 examination. Recently, the NEET exam held on May 3 was completely canceled due to the paper leak controversy. After this, the National Testing Agency has announced to refund 100 percent of the application fees, giving a big relief to more than 22 lakh candidates across the country who appeared in the examination. In this series, today NTA has activated the online refund module link for updating bank details on the official website on 22 May 2026. According to its senior officials, re-exam will be conducted on June 21, 2026, for which no additional fee is being charged from the candidates. Additionally, students who have sought their refund due to cancellation of exams can visit the official portal and submit their bank account details.

Why is a new module necessary for a third party?
Generally all students pay the form fees through debit or credit card of cyber café or any other third-party. In this situation, the refund goes back to the same old account due to which the students have to face a lot of problems. To prevent this problem, NTA has given students the option to update their personal or parents’ bank account, so that the money can directly reach the right person’s account safely.

First of all go to the official website of NTA neet.nta.nic.in.
Click on the link “NEET UG 2026 Fee Refund / Bank Details Update” visible on the homepage.
Login by entering your NEET application number, password and security PIN.
After login, go to the ‘Refund Details’ section and fill the account holder’s name, bank account number and correct IFSC code.
Double check all the information entered and click on ‘Submit’ button.

After completion of the process, take a printout of the confirmation slip for future reference.
How much amount will be given category wise?
NTA is refunding the entire amount already deposited by the students without any deduction. Under this, ₹ 1,700 will be refunded to General category students, ₹ 1,600 to OBC and EWS category students and ₹ 1,000 to SC, ST and Disabled (SC/ST/PwD) category students. Additionally, NRI category candidates will get a refund of ₹9,500. Also, to beware of fake links spreading on social media, NTA has advised all the students to share their banking information only on the official portal. Apart from this, the National Testing Agency has said that as soon as the bank verification process is completed, the amount will be sent directly to the account.
