Balasore ATM Robbery: A filmed attempt at ATM robbery has come to light in Tudigadiya market of Balasore district of Odisha. Late on Friday night, three to four miscreants reached the India1 ATM kiosk in a black Mahindra Thar SUV and uprooted the entire machine by tying it with a rope. However, despite much effort, the accused could not withdraw the cash kept in the ATM and fled away leaving the damaged machine on the roadside. The entire incident has been recorded in the CCTV camera.
According to the police, the incident occurred around 2 am on Friday night. The miscreants first entered the ATM kiosk by breaking its door. After this, he tied the ATM machine behind the Mahindra Thar with a strong rope and moved the vehicle forward and uprooted the machine from its place.
Rope broke, accused could not lift the machine
After uprooting the ATM, the accused were dragging it on the road, when the rope broke midway. After this, the miscreants together tried to lift the machine and keep it in the car, but due to its heavy weight, they could not succeed in doing so. Then they again tied the ATM to the vehicle and dragged it forward.
Mahindra Thar was not only famous for crushing vehicles but now it is also being used for theft.
Thieves entered the ATM on Saturday night with the intention of stealing, the lock of the ATM did not open, they tried to blow up the entire machine, the entire incident was captured in CCTV.

Attempt to withdraw cash failed
After reaching the deserted place, the accused tried to break the ATM machine and take out the cash present in it, but they could not succeed. According to the police, the miscreants were not able to steal even a single rupee from the ATM. Ultimately, they left the damaged machine on the roadside about 300 meters away from the kiosk and fled from the spot.

Investigation continues on the basis of CCTV footage
On receiving information about the incident on Saturday morning, police reached the spot and recovered the damaged ATM machine. The forensic team has examined the incident site and the machine. Police have registered the case and on the basis of CCTV footage the accused have been identified and searched. Officials say that soon the miscreants involved in the incident will be arrested.
