Bhubaneswar: Odisha FC have announced the acquisition of 20-year-old central midfielder Aashir Salim, who has signed a two-year deal that will see him remain with the Kalinga Warriors through 2028.
Salim, who was born in Doha, Qatar, is a product of Al-Sailiya SC’s youth academy, where he progressed through the club’s age-group teams and Olympic setup before breaking into senior football with the Qatari side.
The midfielder has spent his formative years within Qatar’s football system and now embarks on his first venture into Indian club football with his move to the Indian Super League, as press release issued by Odisha FC said.
Speaking after completing the transfer, Salim said: “I’m very happy to join Odisha FC, and I’m really looking forward to this new chapter in my career.
