Chandrashekhar Rao’s daughter K. ‘Telangana Rakshana Sena’ has been approved as the official name of the new political party launched by Kavitha. The Election Commission was given five options for the name of the party, out of which it was selected.

In a post on X, Kavita said, "The name will remain Telangana Rakshana Sena! We will continue to work for the service and security of the people of Telangana, as we have done in the last two decades as ‘Telangana Jagruti’." He further said that he has personally received the letter of approval from the Election Commission regarding the name of the party.

What was the name of the party?
Expressing gratitude towards the Election Commission of India, he said that the party will completely follow the rules and laws. he adds, "In January 2026, as per the protocol set by the Election Commission, we had submitted five name options, and the Election Commission has officially approved our third option. This was the only name whose short form is TRS.

According to Kavitha, the main focus of her party will be on Telangana and achieving the goal of “Sarvodaya Telangana” will be the priority. He appealed to the women for support and also raised questions on the functioning of the present government of the state. Earlier the name of Bharat Rashtra Samithi was also Telangana Rashtra Samithi, which was changed in 2022. Now Kavita’s new party is trying to create its own identity with the same short name.
