Old woman seriously burnt after coming in contact with broken electrical wire

Dhanrua, Patna. A major accident took place in Hulaschak village of Dhanrua police station area on Friday morning due to alleged negligence of the electricity department. 65-year-old Sunita Devi of the village suffered serious burn injuries after coming in contact with a broken electrical wire. After the incident, the villagers immediately took him to the Community Health Center, Dhanrua, where after first aid, seeing his serious condition, the doctors referred him to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) for better treatment.

According to the information received, the electric wire in the village was bent and in a dilapidated condition for a long time. On Friday morning, Sunita Devi came in contact with the same wire, due to which she got a strong electric shock and got seriously injured. After the incident, there was chaos on the spot and the villagers along with his family took him to the hospital.

The villagers made serious allegations against the electricity department and said that the department collects electricity bills regularly but does not pay attention to the repair of dilapidated wires and poles. Villagers say that the department was informed several times about the poor condition of the wire, yet no action was taken.

There is an atmosphere of anger in the village after the incident. Local people have demanded action from the electricity department against the culprits, investigation of power lines in the entire area and immediate repair of dilapidated wire poles, so that such incidents do not recur in future.

On the other hand, according to doctors, the victim suffered electric shock as well as serious burn injuries. His treatment is continuing under the supervision of specialist doctors at PMCH and his condition is being constantly monitored.

At the same time, local officials of the electricity department said that after getting information about the incident, a team is being sent to investigate. The department has assured to investigate the matter and take necessary action and further strengthen the security arrangements.
