On Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar, Tigmanshu Dhulia raised questions about the story, also praised the presentation and music of the film.

New Delhi .The film Dhurandhar starring Ranveer Singh in the lead role gained a good traction among the audience and was also successful in terms of earnings. The second part of this franchise is said to be better than the first. However, now film producer-director Tigmanshu Dhulia has raised questions about the story of Dhurandhar. While taking a dig at the story of the film, he also expressed his opinion on the changing way of storytelling in Hindi cinema.

Tigmanshu Dhulia was recently seen discussing the current style of storytelling in Hindi cinema. During this, he said that due to corporate culture and increasing use of similar templates in films, original stories are decreasing. He also gave the example of Dhurandhar to explain the changing approach to storytelling in mainstream Hindi cinema.

Tigmanshu praised the presentation of the first part of Dhurandhar, but raised questions on its story. Expressing his views, he asked how can this be called a story. According to him, he liked the way the film was presented, but at the story level he did not see anything special in it.

During the program, Tigmanshu Dhulia said that due to corporate culture, more of the same type of films are being made today. According to him, in the present era many films appear like a kind of imaginary biopic. Discussing commercial and mainstream cinema, he cited films like Pushpa, KGF and Dhurandhar as its examples.

Clarifying his opinion about Dhurandhar, Tigmanshu said that he liked the first part of the film very much. He described the presentation of the film as good and also praised its music. However, he expressed his disagreement with the story. He said that if a person was asked to tell the story of Dhurandhar, he would probably not be able to tell it in detail.

He briefly told the story of the film in this way that a person goes undercover to Pakistan and creates havoc there. On this basis, Tigmanshu questioned whether it can be called a complete story. The focus of his comments was not on the film's presentation, but on the story structure and core idea.

Tigmanshu Dhulia also expressed concern about the lack of original stories in Hindi cinema. He believes that nowadays less stories like before are seen in films. He said that the people who used to tell stories are no more and those who want to tell their stories do not get the opportunity.

According to him, people often feel that films with different types of stories will not work. Because of this thinking, the same formula is used again and again. He also said that its impact is not limited to films only. According to him, in the era of extreme capitalism, people, their clothes, hairstyles and even cities start looking similar.

  • Tigmanshu said that such a system destroys the separate identity of people and places. Along with films, his views also pointed towards the increasing uniformity in the society.

Talking about Tigmanshu Dhulia's upcoming project, his film Ghamasaan is going to be released on Zee5 on 11 September 2026.
