In a major success, security forces on Friday eliminated one terrorist during a 12-hour-long operation in the Budgam area of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Based on specific intelligence inputs, a joint search operation was launched by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in the general area of Ashdar Gali, Budgam.
Vigilant troops observed suspicious activity, and, upon being challenged, the terrorists opened fire, prompting a fierce exchange of gunfire. During the ensuing operation, one terrorist was neutralised, while one AK-series rifle and other war-like stores were recovered,” the Kashmir-based Chinar Corps of the Indian Army posted on its social media handle.

According to reports, one terrorist was killed, and an AK-series rifle, along with other warlike stores, was recovered during the joint search operation conducted by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF in the Ashdar Gali area of Budgam district.
The operation was launched following an encounter in the area, during which security forces engaged the terrorists amid heightened security measures.
According to officials, the joint forces recovered an AK-series rifle and other war-like stores from the site following the operation.
The search operation in Ashdar Gali, Budgam, is currently underway as security forces continue to sanitise the area and conduct searches to ensure that no further threats remain.
