Only 6 countries have SLBM missile, is India's name in this list or not?

New Delhi: Deep-sea ballistic missile technology is among the most complex military capabilities in the world. SLBM i.e. Submarine-Launched Ballistic Missile is a missile which can be launched from underwater from specially designed submarines. Due to this technology, the nuclear deterrence of a country is strengthened.

According to current public information, the US, Russia, China, France, Britain and India are among the few countries that have developed and operate SLBM capability.

America has Trident missile

America is among the countries at the forefront of SLBM technology. Its Trident missiles are launched from nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines. The US Navy's Ohio and new Columbia-class submarines are a vital part of its strategic nuclear capability.

Russia's Bulava-Sineva missiles

Russia also has the capability to launch nuclear attacks from the sea. Its Bulava and Sineva missiles are attached to separate ballistic missile submarines. Russia's maritime nuclear force is an important part of its strategic nuclear triangle.

China is rapidly increasing capacity

China has rapidly developed its maritime nuclear capability in the last few years. Its JuLang (JL) series of missiles are launched from ballistic missile submarines. China's new generation SLBM capability is considered critical to enhancing its long-range strategic reach.

France's M51 missile

France has SLBMs of the M51 series. They are deployed on nuclear ballistic missile submarines of the French Navy. France considers its maritime nuclear power an important basis of independent strategic deterrence.

Britain uses Trident

Britain is also among the countries having SLBM capability. Its nuclear ballistic missile submarines use the American Trident missile system. Although the missile technology is of American origin, it is considered part of Britain's independent nuclear deterrent.

India is also included in this special club

Now let's talk about India. India has also made its place in this select group by developing SLBM technology. Missiles such as India's K-15 and K-4 have been developed to be launched from nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines. The Arihant class submarines of the Indian Navy form an important part of the country's maritime nuclear deterrence capability.
