The vote of confidence was passed unanimously during the special session. The Aam Aadmi Party was on the backfoot as seven Rajya Sabha MPs joined the BJP. In these difficult times, all eyes are now on the Punjab government. Because six of the seven Rajya Sabha MPs who left the party were from Punjab.

Raghav Chadha, who left AAP, had claimed that several Aam Aadmi Party MLAs from Punjab were in touch with him. In this situation, Bhagwant Mann took this step to show the unity of his MLAs. Mann moved a no-confidence motion in the Assembly, which was unanimously passed.

AAP’s position is strong in Punjab

Punjab has 117 assembly seats. Aam Aadmi Party is in a very strong position here. He has 94 out of 117 MLAs and has the support of one more MLA. However, when the no-confidence motion was moved in the Assembly, the Akali Dal, Congress and BJP leaders were absent from the House. Out of 94 MLAs of Aam Aadmi Party, 88 MLAs were present. The session was called to minimize the impact of the absence of seven of the 10 Rajya Sabha MPs.

Bhagwant Maan targets Raghav Chadha

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has already targeted MP Raghav Chadha. Mann said, “Party parliamentary board leaders change from time to time and this is a normal process. Citing his own example, he said that he too had replaced Dr. Dharamvir Gandhi between 2014 and 2019. There are many critical issues on which the party expects MPs to boycott or raise their voice,” responded Bhagwant Mann.
