Opposition’s thinking is trivial… CM Yogi cornered Congress on women’s reservation bill

Tezzbuzz Desk- In a press conference held in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made a scathing attack on the opposition regarding Women’s Reservation and Nari Shakti Vandan Act. He described the opposition’s behavior in Parliament as “inappropriate”, saying it was part of a conspiracy against women’s rights.

CM Yogi said that the opposition of Congress and other opposition parties on an important issue like women’s reservation shows their “petty thinking”. He alleged that the opposition spread confusion regarding this bill and tried to stop the steps taken in the national interest.

He said that this Act is a progressive step to provide equality to women in political participation. In this, the rights of no class or men were reduced, but an attempt has been made to ensure 33% reservation by adding additional seats in Parliament and Assemblies.

Attacking the opposition, CM Yogi said that the parties which talk about women today, ignored women’s rights earlier also. Raising the issue of Shah Bano case and triple talaq, he said that previous governments ignored the interests of Muslim women, while the central government took corrective steps.

The Chief Minister said that “half the population” of the country is now aware and understanding the attitude of the opposition. He claimed that there is resentment among women against the opposition, which will be visible in the election results in the coming times.

CM Yogi also accused the opposition regarding delimitation. He said that the government has made it clear that the representation of any state or region will not be reduced, rather the balance of seats will be maintained in proportion to the population.

He said that according to the amended provisions, a target has been set to implement women’s reservation by 2029. For this, the Central Government is moving forward after discussing with all the parties.

CM Yogi accused parties like Congress, Samajwadi Party, TMC and DMK of creating obstacles in Parliament on issues of national interest. He said that despite being in power for a long time, these parties did not take concrete steps for women, the poor and farmers.

Through this press conference, the Chief Minister gave a clear message that women empowerment is the priority of the government and the efforts being made in this direction will not be allowed to be influenced by the politics of the opposition.
