News India Live, Digital Desk: The weather patterns of the country are once again changing rapidly. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for many states by issuing a fresh bulletin. While on one hand an alert has been issued in Bihar regarding severe thunderstorm and storm, on the other hand there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in the plains of North India, Punjab and Haryana. Amidst the intense heat of summer, this seasonal change can be a relief at some places and a disaster at others.
Shadow of celestial disaster in Bihar: warning of dust storm
The Meteorological Department has issued ‘alert’ mode in many districts of Bihar. According to IMD, there is a possibility of dust storm with high speed winds in the northern and eastern parts of the state. In some areas, there may be thunderstorms along with sprinkles. Farmers have been advised to keep the harvested crops in safe places, because this sudden storm can damage the crops. The wind speed is expected to be quite high especially in Seemanchal areas.
Punjab and Haryana: Western disturbance will bring relief
Due to the latest Western Disturbance active in North India, changes are being seen in the weather of Punjab and Haryana. People struggling with the scorching sun and rising temperatures can get relief today. The weather department has predicted light rain and drizzle in many parts including Amritsar, Ludhiana, Ambala and Chandigarh during the next 24 to 48 hours. This will not only bring down the temperature but will also provide relief from the humid heat.
Condition of other states: Snowfall in the mountains and heat in the plains
This dual color of weather is not limited to the plains only. Light snowfall and rain are expected to continue in the higher reaches of hill states like Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. At the same time, there will be movement of clouds in Delhi-NCR, but the effect of humidity and heat may remain. Sporadic rains are expected due to pre-monsoon activities in some parts of South India, while heat wave is likely to continue in Central India.
