Orange Army shines, Hyderabad ready to defeat KKR again, who will have the upper hand?

There is going to be a clash between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders in the 45th match of IPL 2026. This match will be played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, where the home team seems to be in great form. Hyderabad team is currently full of confidence after winning five consecutive matches and has registered six wins in the nine matches played so far.

KKR’s performance not as expected

In contrast, Kolkata Knight Riders’ campaign so far has not been as per expectations. The team has achieved only two wins in eight matches, due to which it is lagging behind in the points table. Although KKR has shown signs of comeback by winning the last two matches, the team is still looking for stability.

If we look at the recent performance, Hyderabad clearly has the upper hand. The team’s batting looks very strong. Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen have scored more than 300 runs this season and are continuously giving strong starts to the team. This is the reason why Hyderabad has successfully chased a big target of more than 225 twice this season, which shows the depth of their batting.

SRH team balanced in bowling

The team looks balanced in bowling also. The return of captain Pat Cummins has added edge to the attack. Apart from this, Ishan Malinga and Saqib Hussain have given success to the team on important occasions by bowling economically in the death overs. This is the reason why Hyderabad team is currently looking strong in every department.

On the other hand, KKR’s biggest problem has been its unstable batting. The team is yet to find a permanent batting combination under the leadership of captain Ajinkya Rahane. Although Sunil Narine and Varun Chakraborty have performed brilliantly in the spin department, the fast bowlers have continuously given away runs, which has increased the pressure on the team.

Hyderabad defeated Kolkata by 65 runs

When both the teams came face to face in the beginning of this season, Hyderabad had defeated Kolkata by 65 runs. In such a situation, SRH also has the psychological edge. However, conditions change rapidly in T20 cricket and if KKR overcomes its shortcomings then the competition can be tough.

Players like Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen can play important roles for Hyderabad. KKR’s hopes will rest on Ajinkya Rahane, Rinku Singh and Sunil Narayan.
