New Delhi, 15 September 2026: Addressing the 'DRDO-Industry Synergy Meet Vimarsh 2026' organized at DRDO Bhawan in New Delhi, the country's Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that the dream of 'Developed India' by the year 2047 is not limited to economic prosperity only. The main objective of this vision is to make India technologically self-reliant, socially inclusive, environmentally sustainable and strategically secure. In future wars, only the country which has technological superiority will be able to gain strategic edge.
The Defense Minister had clarified that the association between DRDO and private defense industries should not be limited to the production of weapons and equipment only. It is essential to extend this partnership to the entire value chain of research, designing, testing, certification and manufacturing. Along with big companies of the country, MSMEs and defense startups will also be made an important part of this entire process, so that the use of indigenous materials can be increased and multi-fold growth can be achieved in defense exports.
In today's era, emerging technology, especially Artificial Intelligence and drone systems, will completely change the picture of the battlefield in the future. The Defense Minister had appealed to experts and industrialists in the defense sector to increase the pace of research. Those companies and countries that invest in modern and innovative technology today will become the technological leaders of the future.
