Scholar Den Coaching owner accused by travel agency of fraud of more than Rs 10 lakh, case registered

Moradabad :- A program was organized in the name of Odisha in January. Vivek Thakur, who runs Scholar’s Den Coaching, has been accused of defrauding travel agency owner Hemant Malhotra of more than Rs 10 lakh in the name of booking flights, railways and taxis for many eminent persons and celebrities in the Odisha program. Got the flight, railway and taxi booking done several times but despite repeated requests, the payment has not been made yet. The allegation is that he threatened to face serious consequences if he asked for money. The police have registered a case in this matter and started investigation.

What is the whole matter :-

A big program named Odisha is being organized by Vivek Thakur on 16 January 2026. In which flight, railway and taxi booking has to be done for many eminent persons and celebrities. Hemant Malhotra, who was already running a travel agency on the basis of business relationship and trust, gave his consent. On January 17, a woman named Riya, who calls herself an employee of Scholar Dan organization, asked through mobile where she had gone to book tickets for singer Sukhwinder Singh, singer Sonam Patra, actor Gulshan Grover, film director Madhur Bhandarkar and other members. Then many more tickets were also booked by a woman named Upasana, who described herself as an employee of the said organization. Hemant demanded payment from time to time and he assured that the entire payment will be made in lump sum. By misleading Hemant, work was done continuously and later Hemant was provided the mobile number of the accountant. On January 24, pressure was put on Hemant to prepare the bill in the name of Orissa. Whereas no payment was made from their side. The Odisha program ended on 26 January, by which time the total outstanding of all the bookings done by Hemant had reached Rs 10,35,710. On demand of payment, pressure was created to book an additional ticket again. When Hemant told about the need for payment, Hemant was threatened by an employee named Riya that, work quietly, otherwise you will have to face serious consequences. After this, Hemant was contacted several times in person and through mobile for payment, but the payment was not made deliberately. Once Hemant met Vivek Thakur in his office, he said in clear words, do whatever you want to do, no payment will be given.

SP City gave information:-

SP City Kunwar Ranvijay Singh said that Hemant Malhotra, who runs a travel agency, has filed a complaint against Vivek Thakur, who runs Scholar’s Den Coaching. He states in the complaint that a program was organized by Vivek Thakur. Some tickets and taxis were booked to call some celebrities. Which has not been paid yet by Vivek Thakur. On the basis of his complaint, a case was registered. After investigation, further action will be taken on the basis of evidence.
