Pakistan Dera Ismail Khan Blast: A terrible bomb explosion took place in north-western Pakistan on Saturday 26 September 2026. At least 11 people were killed and more than 30 were seriously injured in this tragic incident that took place in Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

A suicide bomber reportedly detonated a vehicle packed with explosives at a checkpoint, causing the explosion, police and rescue officials were quoted as saying by AP. A provincial emergency service spokesman told AP that victims of the blast were being taken to a nearby hospital, while some of the injured were in serious condition. According to AP, TTP has claimed responsibility for the blast in a statement.
Terrorist attacks have increased in Pakistan in recent years, many of which have been claimed by the TTP and the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA). Authorities have not provided further information about the circumstances of the blast nor identified those killed or injured.

On September 18 of this month, a big bomb explosion took place in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. This suicide blast took place during Friday prayers in Police Lines area of Kohat district. 15 people were killed and more than 50 were injured in this attack. The attackers detonated a vehicle filled with explosives when people had gathered for Friday prayers.
After the Kohat blast, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Inspector General (IG) Zulfikar Hameed said the attackers rammed a vehicle loaded with explosives into the Old Police Lines gate, causing the blast. About 10 days after that blast, another big blast occurred in the province. The security situation in the province is becoming a challenge for both KP and the Central Government.
