Pakistan failed, India will do, Defense Minister hints at mediation between America and Iran

Rajnath Singh, who is on an official visit to Germany, while addressing the German Parliamentary Committee in Berlin, indicated that India can play the role of mediator to resolve this global crisis. Taking a jibe at neighboring Pakistan, he said that India has the capability to do what Pakistan could not do. “Disruption in the Strait of Hormuz is a bitter reality for us.” The Defense Minister underlined that the conflict in West Asia is no longer just a regional issue. He said, “Any disruption in the Strait of Hormuz is not a distant event for India, but a bitter reality. It has a direct impact on our energy security and economic stability.” He stressed that India is fully prepared for the safety of its maritime trade lines and citizens. Big attack on Pakistan’s ‘failed mediation’ Rajnath Singh in his address pointed towards Pakistan and said that some neighboring countries were trying to mediate in this crisis but they completely failed. He said, “Pakistan has failed, but India will not step back from its responsibility. There is a right time for everything, and India is the country on which the world trusts.” This statement has come at a time when Iran has also expressed distrust towards Pakistani mediation. According to sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has recently discussed over the phone with US President Donald Trump and Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian. Referring to these dialogues, Rajnath Singh said that India is working for global peace with ‘Calmness’ (peace) and ‘Foresight’ (foresight). He indicated that India can act as a strong bridge between the two sides. India’s ‘proactive’ strategy and security measures The Defense Minister said that India has formed a special ‘Group of Ministers’ (GoM) to monitor the situation in West Asia. India Maritime Insurance Pool: India has created its own insurance pool with a sovereign guarantee of Rs 12,980 crore to secure maritime trade. Energy Diversification: India To reduce dependence on Hormuz, supplies of crude oil and gas have been secured from the US, Australia and Latin America. Defense Cooperation with Germany: Rajnath Singh also called on Germany to be a part of the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ campaign and increase cooperation in defense manufacturing.
