Kuwait trembles with fear of US-Iran war! Pakistan is holding hands for security, preparing for defense deal like Saudi Arabia
Pakistan-Kuwait Defense Cooperation: Pakistan and Kuwait have started initial level talks to increase defense cooperation, energy security and investment. Kuwait wants to develop comprehensive defense cooperation with Pakistan, similar to the long-standing relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. However, both the countries have made it clear that only preliminary discussions are taking place and no final decision on any agreement has been taken.
The things that are being discussed between the two countries include cooperation related to military training, defense technology, air defense systems, drones and fighter aircraft. Also, possible deployment of Pakistani military experts in Kuwait is also being considered. However, Pakistan has denied the reports that it was preparing to send combat troops to Kuwait. Officials said no such decision was taken.
Iran-America war increases concern
This conversation is taking place at a time when the security environment of the Middle East is changing rapidly. In recent months, increased tensions between Iran and America and military incidents in the region have increased the concerns of Gulf countries. In such a situation, Kuwait wants to strengthen its security system. Pakistan has already been cooperating with Saudi Arabia in defense and military training, hence it is considered a reliable partner.
Along with defense cooperation, both countries also want to strengthen energy and economic relations. Pakistan wants more stable energy supply from Kuwait and more investment from there. On the other hand, Kuwait is looking at possibilities of developing fuel storage facilities in Pakistan. If this plan goes ahead, the already existing government diesel supply arrangement between the two countries may also be further strengthened.

Discussion continues between Türkiye, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia
Experts believe that it is too early to say anything on the outcome of these talks, because the changing political and security situation of the Middle East will decide its impact. According to the report, discussions are also ongoing on possible trilateral defense cooperation between Türkiye, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. At the same time, Bahrain has expressed its desire to increase defense partnership and Jordan has expressed its desire to increase cooperation in arms procurement and military training. If these plans go ahead, Pakistan’s strategic role in the Gulf region could be further strengthened.
