Pakistan's shameful defeat, England thrashed by one innings and 103 runs in the Leeds Test, bad situation in WTC

PAK vs ENG: Under the captaincy of Joe Root, Pakistan had to face a shameful defeat in the first Test match played against England at Headingley, Leeds. In this first test match, England defeated Pakistan by an innings and 103 runs. In this match, after losing the toss and batting first, Pakistan team was limited to only 171 runs. In response, England scored 409 runs in its first innings and took a huge lead of 238 runs. In response to this, Pakistan team was reduced to only 135 runs in its second innings also. In this way, Pakistan suffered a crushing defeat by one innings and 103 runs. This time too, Pakistan has faced a bad situation in WTC.

Shameful performance of Pakistani batsmen

In the first Test match played in Leeds, England won the toss and invited Pakistan to bat first. Pakistan's batting in the first innings proved to be a complete flop. In the first innings for Pakistan, Abdullah Shafiq scored the highest innings of 61 runs and Imam-ul-Haq scored 42 runs. While batting in the middle order, Salman Ali Aga scored only 21 runs, while fast bowler Khurram Shahzad contributed 14 runs and wicketkeeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan contributed 12 runs. Apart from this, no batsman from Pakistan could touch double digits. The most disappointing thing for Pakistan was that team captain Shan Masood and in-form batsman Saud Shakeel returned to the pavilion early. Both the batsmen scored only 5-5 runs.

Josh Tongue-Ollie Robinson destroyed Pakistan's first innings by taking 5 wickets each.

In the Leeds Test, the Pakistani batsman completely surrendered in front of the fast bowlers of England. In the first innings, England's fast bowlers Tong and Robinson together broke the back of Pakistan and took all 10 wickets. Josh Tong bowled lethally and took 5 wickets for 46 runs. Whereas Ollie Robinson took 5 wickets for just 51 runs.

Harry Brook scored 91 runs, Jordan, Joe Root and Lawrence scored fifties.

In reply to Pakistan's 171 runs, England scored a huge score of 409 runs in their first innings and took a strong lead of 238 runs. Harry Brook played the highest innings of 91 runs for England. Apart from him, young batsman Jordan Cox played an inning of 73 runs. While captain Joe Root scored 66 runs. Dan Lawrence played a quick inning of 51 runs.

Whereas for Pakistan, spinner Ali Usman took maximum 5 wickets. Khurram Shahzad took 3 wickets. Whereas Mohammad Abbas and Mohammad Ali got 1-1 success.

Pakistan's batting was a flop in the second innings also

In response to England's first innings lead of 238 runs, Pakistan's second innings had a very bad start. Half of Pakistan's team had returned to the pavilion on the score of 73 runs. For Pakistan, wicketkeeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan scored the highest innings of 41 runs, while captain Shan Masood scored 29 runs and Abdullah Shafiq scored 15 runs. In the second innings of Pakistan, all three fast bowlers Ollie Robinson, Josh Tong and Joffra Archer created panic by taking 3-3 wickets.
