For this tournament starting from August 28, the command of Pakistani women’s cricket team has been handed over to all-rounder Fatima Sana. India vs Pakistan match has been confirmed in this T20 tournament to be held in UAE. Apart from this, the board has also announced the Pakistani team for the Asian Games to be held in Japan.

Pakistan Cricket Board has announced its team for Asia Cup 2026. In this upcoming tournament, all-rounder Fatima Sana has returned to the team as captain. Let us tell you, Fatima was not a part of the team in the T20 International series against Sri Lanka. Instead she was seen playing in The Hundred. Senior batsman Aliya Riaz has also been included in Pakistan’s team for the Asian Games.

These players got a chance
The board has ignored Sadaf Shams and Sidra Amin for the Asian Games. Apart from Fatima Sana, Pakistan’s squad for both the tournaments includes Muniba Ali, Shawal Zulfikar, Ayesha Zafar, Gul Firozha, Saira Jabeen, Iman Fatima, Iman Naseer, Umm-e-Hani, Tuba Hasnam Nashara Sandhu and Momina Riyasat.
When will there be a clash with India?
A total of 8 teams are participating in the Women’s Asia Cup 2026, which have been placed in 2 groups of 4 each. Group A has India, Pakistan, Hong Kong and Thailand. India has to play its first match against Thailand on 30th August. Whereas, the second match will be against Hong Kong on 3rd September. India will play its third and last match in the group stage against Pakistan on 5 September.
