Under the aegis of Panchayat Assistant Organization Block Tundla, on Tuesday, under the supervision of Women Block President Jitesh Pauniya, Panchayat assistants reached the Block Development Officer office and raised slogans. Panchayat assistants announced a boycott of work in support of the ongoing movement for their various demands in the Eco Garden of Lucknow.
Panchayat assistants submitted a memorandum to the Block Development Officer and said that as long as the agitation for their demands continues in Lucknow, all the Panchayat assistants of development block Tundla will completely boycott their work. Panchayat assistants say that their various demands have been pending for a long time, for the resolution of which agitation is being carried out at the state level.
In the memorandum, the Panchayat assistants demanded that the honorarium should be increased to at least Rs 30 thousand per month or it should be given an honorarium equal to the skilled wage rate. Along with this, demands were raised to end the contract system and make the job permanent, implement the system of transfer of Mahila Panchayat Assistants, send the honorarium amount directly to the bank accounts through DBT and provide maternity leave facility to Mahila Panchayat Assistants.
Panchayat assistants told that a total of 48 Panchayat assistants are working in development block Tundla, who are currently being given an honorarium of six thousand rupees per month. He said that a positive decision should be taken soon on their demands. During this time, Kumari Shobha, Harendra Singh, Pallavi, Reetu Chaudhary, Ajay Kumar, Shivani, Ranveer Singh and other Panchayat assistants were present.
