Panjab Congress Split: Political earthquake in Punjab? Congress MP’s visit to Amit Shah stirs excitement

  • There is a possibility of a split in the Punjab Congress as well
  • Charanjit Singh Channi aggressive
  • The Congress government will not be able to come to power in Punjab

Punjab Congress split: After the Trinamool Congress in Bengal, there is a possibility of a split in the Punjab Congress as well. Information has come to light that Gurdaspur MP Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has secretly reached Delhi. It is also being said that Sukhjinder Singh met Union Minister Amit Shaha. This time he was seen with Rajya Sabha MP Tarun Chugh of BJP.

After meeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Randhawa said, “Ask Charanjit Singh Channi and Raja Wading about Punjab. I met KC Venugopal yesterday too. This time should not have come. It is unfortunate that this situation has arisen after so many meetings.”

On the other hand, former Chief Minister and MP from Jalandhar Charanjit Singh Channi has taken an aggressive stance after not getting the post of state president of Punjab Congress. He called an urgent meeting of Congress leaders at his Morinda residence. The meeting was attended by 26 leaders including three sitting MLAs. The influx of leaders is still going on.

The Congress High Command has decided to retain Ludhiana MP Amarinder Singh Raja Wading as the state president of Punjab Congress. This decision has angered many party leaders. Punjab assembly elections will be held in February 2027.

Channi supporters gearing up for a big decision

Charanjit Singh Channi is likely to take a big decision after discussing with his supporting leaders. Former MLA Darshan Barad, who was present at the meeting, said, “If Channi is not made the state president, the Congress government will not be able to come to power in Punjab.”

Before the election, Charanjit Singh Channi’s name was considered almost certain for the post of state president. However, the decision was changed at the time and Amarinder Singh Raja Wading was retained in this position, while Channi was entrusted with the responsibility of the chairmanship of the campaign committee.

Channi is said to be upset with this decision. He did not even thank the Congress High Command. A person close to Channi, who did not want to be named, said that he was very upset about not getting the post of state president and now he has taken up the role of Aarpar. He is trying to make the high command aware of his strength by showing strength.

On the other hand, Punjab Congress in-charge Bhupesh Baghel has also started movements. He is expected to reach Chandigarh today or in the next few days to meet the current state president Amarinder Singh Raja Wading and former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi.
