The film was released with Emraan Hashmi's 'Awarapan 2' and 'Bantwara 1947' continued to lag behind in terms of earnings. However, the film has received praise from a superstar who made even Sunny Deol's family happy.
Karan Deol revealed in an interview that Salman Khan watched 'Partition 1947' and he liked the film very much. Not only this, Salman also called Sunny Deol after watching the film.

In an interview given to Filmygyan, Karan Deol talked about his family relationship with Salman Khan. He said that Salman loves his family very much and always supports him.
According to Karan, Salman Khan had called his father Sunny Deol after watching 'Partition 1947'. He told that Salman liked the film and he also liked Sunny Deol's work.
While praising Salman, Karan also described him as a very wonderful and genuine person.
The film lagged behind 'Awarapan 2' at the box office.
'Partition 1947' was released in theaters on 14 August on the occasion of Independence Day. The film had a box office clash with Emraan Hashmi's 'Awarapan 2'.
It was expected that Sunny Deol's film would lead at the box office, but in terms of earnings, the picture was the opposite. 'Awarapan 2' left 'Partition 1947' behind from the very beginning.
According to the report, on the second Sunday, 'Partition 1947' earned only Rs 1.30 crore, while 'Awarapan 2' made a business of Rs 8.75 crore on the same day.
'Partition 1947' has made a gross collection of around Rs 52.52 crore worldwide in 10 days. The worldwide gross collection of 'Awarapan 2' has reached around Rs 192.80 crore in 10 days.
Even though 'Bantwara 1947' did not live up to the expectations at the box office, Salman Khan's praise has definitely created a wave of happiness among the fans of the film and Sunny Deol.
