Dhanrua. A peace committee meeting was organized in Dhanrua police station premises on Thursday to ensure that the upcoming Durga Puja is conducted in a peaceful, cordial and safe environment. The meeting was presided over by Dhanrua police station incharge Amit Kumar. BDO Alisha Kumari and CO Rajkishore Chaudhary, public representatives of the area, dignitaries, members of puja committees and local citizens were present in the meeting.
In the meeting, the preparations and security arrangements of the police and administration regarding Durga Puja were discussed in detail. Officials directed puja committees to strictly follow government guidelines. Also, an appeal was made to cooperate with the administration in maintaining peace and social harmony during the puja.
In the meeting, special instructions were given regarding ban on DJ and obscene songs in puja pandals and processions. It was advised to use only permitted sound systems. Instructions were also given to install CCTV cameras in major puja pandals and deploy volunteers to maintain peace.
Officials said that the police will keep a close watch on those who spread rumors on social media or try to disturb social harmony. In such cases, action will be taken as per rules. At the same time, adequate police force will be deployed around the puja pandals for crowd control and smooth traffic management. At the end of the meeting, the people present resolved to cooperate with the police-administration and celebrate the festival of Durga Puja with mutual brotherhood, peace and harmony.
